FAQS — JUNIORS + HOT SHOTS

ENROLMENT & TERM STRUCTURE

  • Term-based enrolments allow students to train with the same class, coach and peers each week. This consistency supports faster development and a more enjoyable experience. If you prefer a one-off session, private lessons are available on request.

  • Northcote Tennis runs term-based lesson programs aligned with Victorian school terms, usually 8–12 weeks long. Each program includes one class per week, with fees based on the number of weeks in the term.

  • No. Each term may have different levels, class times, or coach availability. Families are invited to re-enrol each term once schedules are confirmed..

  • Classes do not run on public holidays. Your term fee reflects this — sessions falling on public holidays are not charged as a class for that week.

  • Places are not held for extended absences. Enrolments are managed term by term to ensure fairness and availability for all families.

ATTENDANCE & MAKE-UPS

  • If your child cannot attend due to illness or injury and you provide a valid medical certificate, we can offer a make-up lesson in line with our policy. For extended absences, a pro-rata credit may be issued for use in the next term, and your child’s place may be released for others to join.

GENERAL QUESTIONS

  • Students should bring their tennis racquet, wear comfortable active clothing and runners, and bring a named water bottle — and hat/sunscreen in sunny weather.

  • Children should bring a racquet. We can loan one for the first lesson if needed, but we encourage owning one for practice between lessons. Coaches are happy to advise on appropriate sizing. We sell affordable junior racquets at the courts.

  • Please speak with your child’s coach at the end of the term to review their placement and discuss the best class for their progress.
